The Department of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts is committed to a liberal arts approach to education, and offers several minors related to film and media.
Film Studies Minor
The Film Studies Minor consists of 15 credit hours and is open to Ohio State students who wish to supplement their primary area of study with an understanding of the evolution of cinema, the relationships between film and other arts, and the international dimensions of the medium.
Screenwriting Minor
The Screenwriting Minor consists of 18 credit hours and is open to Ohio State students who wish to hone their own distinct voices and gain practical experience for careers in film and television writing.
Video Arts Minor
The Video Arts Minor consists of 17 credit hours and is open to Ohio State students who wish to explore traditional, alternative, and artistic means of media delivery in a variety of expressive and creative contexts.
Media Production and Analysis Minor
The Media Production and Analysis Minor consists of 15 credit hours and is open to Ohio State students who wish to understand the societal impact of contemporary media practices as well develop specific media production skills.
Entertainment Design and Technology Minor
The Entertainment Design and Technology Minor consists of 12 credit hours and is open to Ohio State students looking at careers in live events and theatre and themed entertainment.
