Paige Piper is Academic Program Coordinator for Film Studies and Moving-Image Production in the Department of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts. In addition to providing program and student support for film and media at OSU, Piper has taught cinema, comics, language, and cultural/media analysis courses at multiple institutions in Ohio, including at The Ohio State University, Denison University, and Wright State University. Piper’s academic research focuses on transnational crime fiction, genre and seriality, and Francophone visual and popular cultures. Recent publications include work on the spatial dynamics of queer French thriller cinema (Journal of Romance Studies 20.1, 2020), and the Nordic Noir trend in crime television (Contemporary French Civilization 43.1, 2018). She has served as Associate Guest Editor for a special issue of Film Matters Magazine (Vol. 6.2), is a member of the Midwest Working Group in French and Francophone Cinemas, judge for the Mad Royal Film Festival at OSU, and has served as screening panel member of the Austin Film Festival.
